Bike Maintenance Clinic

Post  LeighS on Fri May 25, 2012 9:00 am

Have you ever had a flat tire while you are on the trail and fumble around trying to fix it? Has your chain ever broken while you are riding and you’ve had to walk back to your car? Have you been wondering about what regular maintenance you should do to your bike so you can avoid costly repairs in the future and when you should take your bike to the shop?

After our regular June board meeting, members are welcome to join us for a Bike Maintenance Clinic.

3 professional mechanics will guide us through trail side emergency repairs (such as changing a tube and repairing a broken chain) as well as maintenance you should be doing to your bike at home (such as lubing the chain and what bolts you should be checking) as well as how to properly clean your bike so you don’t spray all of the oil out of the bearings. They’ll also talk about when you should take your bike to the shop.

Please feel free to come to the board meeting as well.

Date: June 12, 2012
Board meeting: 6.30 – 7.00 pm
Maintenance Clinic: 7.00 – 8.30 pm
Glentana Village Recreation Center (1507 Glentana Road in View Royal)

Thanks for RSVP'ing!!

It would be nice to know how many people are coming to this clinic. If you all can use this forum to RSVP that would be great. For those that need to wait last minute that's ok to. Members can just show up!

Thanks,

Christine

I will be there for 7pm. I will most likely be at the dump prior if anyone is interested in joining me. I plan to do a quick jaunt from 5-6:30pm

Sounds great! Just print off the forms and bring money or cheque. We will not have change so make sure to bring the exact amount. Look forward to meeting you!

Hi All. So sorry I wasn't there. I turned up Glentana and there was a wall of fire trucks blocking the road. Not sure what happened, but left after 20 minutes because I figured I was too late at that point. I'm really disappointed to have missed it! Hope we can do it again sometime.

Oh no!! Heard all the fire trucks and wondered what was going on...sorry that it meant you couldn't get to us. I think it would be great to do another one.
